Smack dab in the middle of Washington state is one of the more charming parts of the greater American Northwest.
The Tri-Cities are made up of Kennewick, Pasco and Richland. The three municipalities meet up right where the Yakima, Snake and Columbia Rivers join up in the Columbia Basin. The area is a wonderful mix of cultural attractions and vast stretches of unbelievably beautiful countryside. Folks flock here to get away from it all while also staying connected to great cuisine, fun festivals and fantastic attractions like museums and historical sites.
Over 250,000 people make their home in the Tri-Cities area, with Kennewick leading the way with about 85,000. The great outdoors is a big attraction here with awesome hiking and biking in places like the Sacagawea Heritage Trail and great nearby skiing during the winter. But this is also one of the state’s centers for wine production, so visiting vineyards and tasting rooms is a must. Take in a little golf in Kennewick at one of its awesome courses. Try your luck at cards at a casino in Pasco. Or check out Richland’s Allied Arts Gallery in the Park for a sampling of local paintings and illustrations.
